TTA Gets FAA Approval to Support Overhaul Requirements for Stab Actuators on Learjet Airframes

TTA Expands its Capabilities, Assists Learjet Operator in Helping Keep Their Planes Airworthy

In its latest expansion of MRO service capabilities, Thrust Tech Accessories (TTA) announced that it has received approval from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to support specific overhaul requirements for the motors needed on stabilizer actuators for Learjet airframes. With more than 30 years of industry experience, TTA is an FAA 145 and EASA Certified Repair Station provider of MRO services located in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Bombardier has an existing revision in the Component Maintenance Manual (CMM) that was recently highlighted requiring the primary and secondary motors for the Learjet’s “stab” actuators to be replaced or overhauled every 600 hours.

“With ever-changing support needs within the market and the increasing importance of regional airlines, private, and corporate jet operations in the aviation arena over the past few years, this FAA approval came at an opportune time and has allowed us to quickly expand our capabilities to assist Learjet owners and operators,” says TTA President and General Manager Stanley Kowlessar.

“Continued airworthiness is an essential part of the aviation industry and a mission we take to heart,” Kowlessar emphasizes. “With this approval, we can be another option for the market.” Currently, TTA has an extensive service portfolio that includes regional airlines, business aircraft owners and operators, air ambulances, and private aircraft owners worldwide.

Since it received the FAA approval this year, TTA has already become a prime MRO-services provider for both primary and secondary Learjet aircraft stab actuator motors. Kowlessar adds that TTA is also seeing an increase in demand for the stab actuator end unit to be overhaul in our facility increasing that portion of our business as well. He stresses that TTA’s new MRO solutions are both cost-effective and time-sensitive, as the company understands every minute out of service for an aircraft equates to potential lost revenue.

On a Growth Path
“This expanded capability is just one of the latest in a series of growth and expansion steps that we’ve proactively taken over the past three years,” says Kowlessar. “In addition, to enhance MRO services and support for our aviation customers worldwide, TTA has been fortunate to attract the right skills required to fill our needs through our incentive program.”

In addition, over the past three years, TTA has taken some strategic steps in preparing for supply chain challenges that has paid dividends.

These steps and others have positioned TTA to meet the growing needs by providing high-quality airframe and powerplant accessory repair and overhaul. TTA offers the use of OEM and PMA parts – along with DER repairs on costly parts that allows them to return to service rather than becoming non-repairable and deemed BER (beyond economical repair).
